Music Appreciation

Homeschool students will study the history of music, learn about instrumentation and ensembles, and develop listening skills as they explore different musical genres. This class will lay a foundation of  musical knowledge and focus on the seven periods of music:

• Medieval

• Renaissance

• Baroque 

• Classical

• Romantic

• 20th Century

• Modern/Contemporary

Students do not need to be proficient on an instrument; this class is to develop an understanding of music, its history, its form, and how to compare/contrast music through the ages. Students will experience live performances throughout the 10 week course.
